Viewing Syllabi
Viewing Individual Syllabi
To view an individual course, use the dropdowns under "Individual Syllabus" in the left navigation bar. First choose a Syllabus, then a View, and then click on Go! If you do not choose a View, the default view is the Complete View.
Viewing Multiple Syllabi
To view 2 or more Syllabi together, use the dropdowns under "Combine Syllabi" in the left navigation bar. Select up to five Syllabi at a time, then a View, and then click on Go!. SylViA currently only supports viewing five Syllabi at a time, and all Syllabi must be from the same semester.
Complete View
Displays all information in a Syllabus, combining the Administrivia and Detailed Views. Available only for Individual Syllabi.
Administrivia
General information about a course, including office hours, course descriptions and resources, and course texts and readers. Available only for Individual Syllabi.
Detailed View
Provides comprehensive information about course work, including topics, class descriptions, and all readings. Available for both Individual and Combined Syllabi.
Quick View
Shows only required readings, assignments and exams. Available for both Individual and Combined Syllabi.
This Week
The Quick View of this week's course work only. Available for both Individual and Combined Syllabi.
Deliverables
A listing of a course's assignments and exams. Available for both Individual and Combined Syllabi.
You can subscribe to your courses using your RSS reader. Click on the "Subscribe" link within the views, and then copy the URL, and paste it in to your reader.
Why bother? Subscribe to your course if you want to have your course work pushed out to your reader, rather than having to come to SylViA all the time
Printing Views
To a print a view, click on the "Printable Version" link under the course name. The printable version does not include the left navigation bar.
Common Mistake
Clicking on Go! without selecting a Syllabus first. Be sure to select a Syllabus from the dropdown menus before clicking on Go!.
